Shift: 1st Shift ONLY Mon- Fri 8:00AM-4:30PM

Basic Function: Accountable to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible to oversee the testing of Wires and Cables, maintain the Calibration of testing equipment’s. Compiling and evaluating statistical data to determine and maintain Quality of Products. Help Quality Engineers and Manager implement and maintain the Quality Management System in support of the ISO and Nuclear programs. 

Responsibilities:
  • Confers with Engineering to interpret Engineering and Industry Specifications to ensure Products get tested accordingly.
  • Assist with Compliant analysis and corrective actions. Support Continuous Improvement projects and 6S events.
  • Support Layered Process Audits Interact with External Customers, Inspectors and Auditors as needed.
  • Assist in updating Claim Sheets and Dashboards.
  • Lead associates to effectively perform required testing and reporting of quality data.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and report returned product from customers.  Lead / coordinate corrective actions. 
  • Interact with customer visits (offsite or onsite) as needed. 
  • Interact with suppliers as needed for audits, certifications and purchased material concerns.
  • Serve as internal auditor for Willimantic and other Facilities in NA as needed.
  • Interact with and assist the lab as needed.
  • Perform related duties as directed by Quality Manager.

Qualifications:
  • Experience with Wire and Cable testing, Fiber Optic, Nuclear, Flame testing, Electrical and Mechanical testing.
  • Ability to work as an individual or as a team.
  • Capable of multi-tasking.
  • Computer skills.
  • Technical skills, analytical ability, and good judgment.
  • Be able to communicate effectively both oral and written with other associates, technicians, engineers, and customers.
  • Attention to details.  
  • Must be able to drive projects.
  • High energy; demonstrates urgency and fast pace.  

Preferred:
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Some Quality systems auditing.
  • Proven ability to work in a team setting and a strong floor presence.
  • Experience with wire and cable is a plus.
  • Associates degree minimum, Bachelor's degree is preferred.
